It's Tuesday Night Fever on the "American Idol" stage tonight as the four remaining divas -- FANTASIA BARRINO, DIANA DeGARMO, LA TOYA LONDON and JASMINE TRIAS -- get things dancing for Disco Week.
On tonight's ET, we'll get the latest "Idol" update from judge and ET special correspondent PAULA ABDUL and speak to this week's guest judge, disco queen DONNA SUMMER.
"I am a huge fan of Donna Summer," Paula says. "One of my first professional gigs was touring with her as a back-up singer. I dressed up and held a tray, singing 'She Works Hard For the Money.'"
Summer ruled the music charts in the '70s and '80s with tunes such as "Love to Love You Baby," "Bad Girls" and "Hot Stuff." The "Idol" gals can choose one of Summer's hits to perform, or others from the disco era, such as the BEE GEES or GLORIA GAYNOR. Each will sing two numbers before receiving their review from the judges.
"I think that with the girls that are left, they are all well suited for the disco classics," Paula adds. "They are all going to be able to handle it really well."
As for the job of the guest judge at this point, Paula says, "Donna's job is easy. The talent will rise to accomplish her songs. It is never an easy job for the guest judges when it is their songs, because they can't be judgmental. But they are going to do her proud."
Despite a true camaraderie behind the scenes at "American Idol," the tension continues to mount. There are only three weeks left until the finale -- Wednesday, May 26. So how are the divas doing?
"Right now at this stage they are exhausted," Paula says. "People don't know it but they have grown close. It is going to be hard to face tomorrow when someone goes home. They want it to be over already, so they can go on with their tour and have a blast this summer. They realize they are going to go on and have a real career.
