"There's no right way to do the wrong thing, and there's no wrong way to do the right thing," Paula Abdul says, when asked about her favorite mantra. Abdul—who shot to fame as a dancer and singer and then became a TV host and American Idol judge—tells Health that this mantra is a reminder to have more patience and compassion.

For Abdul, kindness is a kind of superpower, and her mantra reinforces that. "You can make fun of kindness, but kindness is my strength," she explains. "It's a very critical and important time right now to be gentle and kind on yourself, and be patient, understanding, and kind to other people."
