With 80’s pop sensation Paula Abdul taking centre stage, Hey Paula is an unfiltered, uncensored fly-on-the-wall documentary following the life of our favourite American Idol judge. ITV2 viewers will have exclusive access to Ms. Adbul as the cameras follow her 24/7 for a non-stop string of business meetings, media appearances and not forgetting those fabulous showbiz parties stateside. Hey Paula is brand new and exclusive to ITV2, Fridays from 1 February at 10pm.
Paula is most famed for her iconic pop career, but has recently turned her talents to television, choreography, jewellery design and a huge amount of charity work. Hey Paula will follow her hectic lifestyle and will catch all of the tears, tantrums and triumphs along the way. In episode one, Paula discovers that one of her precious Chihuahuas has devoured an antique ring worth $1000. The ring was lent to Paula to wear for The Grammys, but now Paula is unsure if she will make it down the red carpet in time. This is not Paula’s only jewellery malfunction of the evening. Her QVC jewellery designs are not as she had hoped and Paula insists they must be rectified, despite there being only hours before the collection is presented live on television.
In the episodes that follow Paula can be seen hosting a charity event for animal victims of hurricane Katrina, as well as being stranded in Philadelphia due to a snow storm. Consequently, there is a huge chance that she will fail to make her interview with David Letterman. In a later episode Paula is awarded a fashion icon accolade, despite having graced the worst dressed lists numerous of times throughout her career. Paula’s public appreciation continues throughout the series when she is awarded the Woman of the Year honour by the Nevada ballet in Las Vegas.
Viewers will also get to know Paula’s trusted entourage who keep her in check, as well as looking fabulous at all times. There is her hairstylist Daniel, her publicist of seven years Jeff, her full-time wardrobe assistant Kiley and her four dogs – Bessie Moo, Chomps, Thumbelina and Tulip.
