Disney+ brought one of the Muppets’ most beloved musical groups to center stage with The Muppets Mayhem, a musical comedy about Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem finally recording their first studio album. The series follows ambitious music executive Nora Singh (Lilly Singh) as she tries to bring the band into the modern recording industry.

The complete ten-episode season premiered on May 10, 2023. Paula Abdul joined a star-studded lineup of performers and entertainers appearing as themselves, extending her long connection to music-led television and the Muppets.

Paula appears as herself in Season 1, Episode 7 — “Track 7: Eight Days a Week.” The episode takes the form of an increasingly chaotic behind-the-scenes music documentary as Nora and JJ work to capture the Electric Mayhem’s recording sessions.

It is an especially appropriate setting for Paula, whose career spans pop music, choreographed performances and television. The episode puts musical personalities in conversation with the band’s larger-than-life history.
