Straight Up Paula! Tour
In 2017 Paula Abdul toured the US on the sold-out Total Package Tour (featuring Paula Abdul, Boyz II Men, New Kids on the Block), performing in over 45 cities including stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Barclays Center in New York. After the tour, Paula was ready to hit the road again… this time- as a solo act.
On July 9th 2018 Grammy Award-winning pop legend and dance superstar Paula Abdul announced a new North American tour beginning the fall of 2018 titled – the STRAIGHT UP PAULA! Tour – her first solo outing in over 25 years. Tickets went on sale to the General Public on Friday, July 13th 2018.
The performing dynamo kicked off the seven-week tour on October 18th in Tulsa, Oklahoma and stopped in over 26 cities with additional performances scheduled into 2019.
On September 19th 2018 Paula added three more show dates for the Straight Up Paula! tour. New tour dates added include: Nov 30th in Norwalk CT, Dec 5th in San Antonio TX and March 30th 2019 in Orilla, Ontario.

In December 2018 Paula Abdul was announced as a guest artist performing at the 15th Year Anniversary Freestyle Festival: Spring Edition in April 2019.
The Straight Up Paula! Tour saw Paula Abdul performing her most memorable hit songs including Straight Up, Forever Your Girl, Opposites Attract, Rush Rush, The Way That You Love Me, Cold Hearted. Paula even performed fan-favorites Blowing Kisses in the Wind and Crazy Cool. This tour marked Paula’s first time performing Crazy Cool live for fans in a concert arena since the song debuted.
During the show Paula Abdul walked fans through her auditions to become a Los Angeles Laker Girl, explained how she came up with Janet Jackson’s "Nasty" dance-moves, talked about her long-time admiration for Gene Kelly, how she and her team created animated rapper MC Skat Kat and more.

Paula also talked about the joys of working with Simon Cowell on American Idol and other valuable life lessons she's learned, all while celebrating her many accomplishments in over 30 years in the entertainment business.
During a section of the show Paula had her dancers scour the audience to find participants willing to show off their own dance-moves. The lucky fans selected danced on stage, the audience voted for their favorite by applause and then they took a photo with Paula, which was later posted to her official Twitter and Instagram accounts.
For the finale song, “Forever Your Girl,” Paula Abdul was escorted into the audience where she performed the song right next to fans, dancing and taking pictures with them throughout the song.
Paula ended up on stage at the end of the song with her dancers, where she took a final bow, and expressed gratitude by thanking the audience for their support.

On September 25th the media reported that celebrity designer Nikki Lund had lost a metallic bustier worth an estimated $15,000 that had resurfaced and was worn by Abdul in promotional photos for the Straight Up Paula! Tour.
The October 19th show in Lake Charles, LA was cancelled last minute after Paula and her crew arrived on-site and discovered an unexpected production issue at the venue.
On October 20th Paula Abdul accidently tumbled off stage in Biloxi, Mississippi, while singing "The Promise of a New Day." Abdul inched toward the edge of the stage as she encourages the crowd to clap along. She reached into the audience to shake hands with fans unaware that she had already reached the edge. Paula took a step forward and fell directly into the crowd. Abdul was not injured and "was able to continue the show."
Abdul collaborated with multimedia company Freckled Sky to produce the visuals for the tour.
