Paula Abdul announced on Friday that she has a new residency in Las Vegas.

The show will be called Paula Abdul: Forever Your Girl and it will be held at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino.

This comes after she looked sensational during her 2019 Billboard Music Awards performance where she sang a medley of her biggest hits.

The residency kicks off on August 13 and ends on January 4, 2020.

She has a total of 20 dates so far.

'I love telling stories through music and dance, and engaging with the audience,' she said of the show.

'I’m taking the essence of the classic choreography that has become part of my legacy and I want to have a real experience with the audience so they leave knowing me a bit more.'

Her throwback performance at Billboards was loved by many.

It comes on the 30th anniversary of the singer becoming the first female artist to have four Billboard #1 singles from her debut album.

Abdul surprised fans when she walked down the aisle of the Grand Garden Arena and tossed her top hat, hitting actress/dancer Juilanne Hough in the neck, and also in bringing back the animated MC Skat Kat from her Opposites Attract music video.

Abdul began her medley with a performance of her hit Straight Up, when she stopped to toss her hat away, but it hit Hough, sitting in the front row, in the neck.

While the toss certainly surprised Hough, she took it all in stride, turning and smiling at the camera as Abdul strode up to the stage with the rest of her dancers.

Hough later made light of the incident on Twitter, tweeting, 'Me: Paula Abdul: DID. THAT' with the hashtag #BBMAs.

She also sang It's Just the Way That You Love Me, but then had another surprise for fans, bringing back the animated MC Skat Kat from her Opposites Attract music video.

The animated cat was first seen on a massive video screen behind Abdul, but then after she motioned for the cat to join her, he did, dancing on stage with her.

Abdul also sang Cold Hearted and the title track for her 1988 debut, Forever My Girl, with her performance featuring some incredible acrobats with the singer diving from a platform into the arms of several dancers.

Abdul's performance also comes weeks after the passing of her father Harry, and a year after the passing of her mother, Lorraine.

She opened up about losing her parents during a red carpet interview with E! before the awards show, saying her return to the stage is for them.

'For me, I think if you align yourself in that heart space what you love to do, then you’re on the right path,' she began.

'You have to be willing to make sharp left turns and sharp right turns … It’s hard to make it in this business. You can’t take things too seriously, and as I get older the more I’m in the moment, the more I appreciate everything that’s going on. I’m doing it for my mom and my dad!'

Abdul took to Instagram on April 17 to reveal her father Harry had passed away, with a heartfelt message.

'My Father was, and always will be, my superhero,' she began. 'Thank you ALL for the heartfelt condolences. Your love and support is comforting me during this difficult time. xoP'

She also shared a video where she was sitting next to her father, where she said, 'I love my daddy more than anything in the world! I love you to pieces,' before kissing him on the cheek.

'"Dad: a daughters first love." – Unknown — Everyone loved my father,' she said. 'He had a heart of gold and carried his heart on his sleeve wherever he went, and shared it with everyone he came in contact with.'
