New Kids on the Block took over the TODAY Show this morning to announce their massive summer tour will feature special guests and four-time Grammy Award winning R&B group Boyz II Men as well as platinum-selling pop icon Paula Abdul. This tour marks Abdul’s highly anticipated return to the stage for a hit-fueled set that includes an incredible seven number-one hit singles. Paula has not toured in 25 years. The Total Package tour, the follow-up to 2013’s hugely-successful Package Tour, kicks off May 12 in Columbus, OH and will continue through over 40 North American cities. Tickets will be available to the general public this Sat, Nov 19 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Special VIP packages are available.
The Total Package Tour includes a special Boston homecoming for NKOTB at the historic Fenway Park. The hometown heroes will return to the world-famous ballpark for the first time in five years. They guys last visited the infamous Green Monster on their acclaimed NKOTBSB Tour alongside the Backstreet Boys. Their return is set for Sat, Jul 8, 2016 and will be NKOTB’s second time performing at the ballpark. Performing at Fenway is a dream for the five Boston natives who consider it an honor to get to share this special privilege with the likes of Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel. The tour will also include the group’s first performance at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Fans will be able to catch the artists discussing what to expect from the tour on media programs across the country, including appearances on Sirius XM, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, E! News, Extra and the Associated Press. NKOTB, Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men will also celebrating the tour announcement with a fan town hall event at iHeartRadio. “Our fans know we love to bring them a party, and this tour is no exception.” says NKOTB member Donnie Wahlberg. “It’s not just a show, it’s an experience. Paula Abdul is such a pop icon and Boyz II Men are one of the best R&B acts of all time. It’s going to be a night of hit after hit, and we can’t wait to deliver the ‘Total Package’ to our fans!”
Combined NKOTB, Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men have over 200 million records sold worldwide and are primed to bring the biggest party of the summer to stops across the U.S on the Total Package Tour. NKOTB have come to be known for delivering Blockheads with once in a lifetime experiences and legendary collaborative events. Their return to the stage after a touring hiatus will brings fans all the favorite songs including the number one hits “Hangin Tough,” “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” and “Step By Step.”
