LATEST: Singer PAULA ABDUL has been left without her planned summer job hosting new talent show AMERICAN JUNIORS - because the post has gone to AMERICAN IDOL host RYAN SEACREST.

Last month (MAY03), reports emerged that the STRAIGHT UP singer was in advanced talks to take up hosting duties on the American Idol spin-off show which premiered last night (03 JUN 2003).

The show is a search for singers between the ages of six and 13 who will eventually form a five-member group.
