Paula Abdul had no idea she was going to sacked from 'The X Factor'.
The 'Straight Up' singer was on the judging panel for the US version of the talent show last year and she admits it came as a shock when the show's boss and fellow judge Simon Cowell axed her.
Paula - who also worked on 'American Idol' alongside Simon - told BANG Showbiz: ''I didn't see it coming. What I did see coming is that he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, after he opened his mouth and said anything less than 20 million viewers would be a failure. For him, he thought change was bold and a big departure for what was going on. He felt that was important. I've been in this business way too long. Change and business is business and it sometimes supersedes any personal type of business. I wish him luck.''
Paula was sacked alongside Nicole Scherzinger and the pair were replaced by Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, but she insists there are no hard feelings.
She said: ''I'm looking forward to seeing how they do. I wish them the best of luck. When you have a long career such as Britney, she knows what she's doing. I hope she has fun, same thing with Demi. What's the best advice I can give them? Don't take mine, obviously!''
