Singer Paula Abdul had a last-minute fashion crisis on her way to a ball in Washington, D.C. on Monday (21 Jan 2013) after a waiter spilled a drink down her dress.
The pop star/dancer was enjoying a meal before heading to the Creative Coalition's Inaugural Ball, held to mark U.S. President Barack Obama's second inauguration, when the accident happened.
Abdul was forced to wait while her gown was dry cleaned at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, making her late for the star-studded celebration.
She took to Twitter.com to detail her mishap, writing, "Just my luck. Server lost his balance. Caramel chocolate cream martini down the front of my red gown! Huge thank you to Ritz Carlton (in) Washington DC for taking such good care of us while we wait as they try to speed dry clean my gown!"
"Bummed I'm going to be late for the ball! Having some hot chocolate while we wait..."
Abdul, who was one of the thousands who watched Obama recite his oath of office in the U.S. capital, later added, "I'm So bummed but what a blessing that I could experience the swearing in of Barack Obama! At least I was able to witness history today!"
