Paula Abdul, the singer and choreographer who is now better known as one of the judges on "American Idol", said she is glad to do her bit for the tsunami victims.
The singer-choreographer-actress, who popularised the dance anthem Straight Up and the sexy love ballad Rush, Rush in the late 80s, is in town to host the Force of Nature for Tsunami Aid concert in Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil tonight.
"I'm excited to be here. But now, I can't wait to get to the hotel and take a nap before the show," she said, smilingly before she was whisked to the limousine waiting outside the airport.
On American Idol, Paula said it was sad that leading contestant Mario Vasquez withdrew from the contest.
Fellow contestant Nikko Smith, the man with highest number of votes after Vasquez, has made his way back into the show.
"It's sad that Vasquez had to leave but I seriously think he looked sexy on stage," said Paula, when met after her arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, today.
Paula, who is also regarded as the "nicest" of the three judges, said she regarded Anwar Robinson as "da voice" in the contest.
"He's the best," she said.
Paula, who was in T-shirt and jeans, was accompanied by aspiring American singer, Jimmy Demers. Despite the long-haul from Los Angeles, the petite singer was friendly and accommodating.
Asked about fellow judge Simon Cowell, known for his catty and razor-sharped criticism, she said: "Simon's fine and he's nasty as ever."
Force of Nature for Tsunami Aid is also headlined by a host of international stars including Lauryn Hill and Black Eyed Peas.
