Paula Abdul Takes Long-Awaited Journey to Israel and is named an "Honorary Ambassador" according to Isrealife Media Group
After dozens of invitations to visit the country, Paula Abdul has made the trip to the Holy Land.
JERUSALEM, Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Within Abdul's first 24 hours of arriving, she met President Shimon Peres whom she referred to as "Sababa" (popular slang word meaning cool). The President gave Abdul a bottle of Olive Oil from the ancient olive grove at the Presidential Residence in Jerusalem. Abdul and guests then had an intimate dinner with Tourism Minister Dr. Uzi Landau who presented Abdul with a certificate naming her an Honorary Ambassador to Israel and a personalized Bible.

Abdul had an emotional visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum and visited the Western Wall where she left notes for her family, friends, loved ones and fans and says she has "prayed all over Israel." She enjoyed a celebration on the Sea of Galilee and was welcomed by the Mayor of Tiberias. She traveled to the Dead Sea to float in the lowest place on Earth, covered herself in mud and stunning keepsake photos were captured. Abdul took part in a private spiritual Bat-Mitzvah ceremony in a 15th Century Synagogue in Tzvat, one of Israel's holiest cities, and then went on to Tel Aviv to experience fashion and fun at a Gindi Tel Aviv Fashion Week event, shopped through the streets and attended a dance show at the Suzanne Delal Centre.
Although Abdul's trip was covered heavily by media worldwide, Abdul's goal was to experience the country as a regular tourist. She remained light-hearted as media constantly approached her, even posing with paparazzi and turning her camera on them.
Speaking about the success of the tour Traci Szymanski, the LA based Entertainment Executive who partnered with Israel's Ministry of Tourism to produce the tour remarked, "I believe Paula is one of Israel's angels and has shined a big bright light on this country for all to see. I am thankful Paula took time out of her busy schedule to experience Israel for herself and I hope that it inspires people to open their hearts and minds."
